The artist is Falk
This “self -portrait” is one of the programs in the artist’s work. In the 1920s, Falk taught in the Moscow VKhUTEMAS, was the head of the picturesque workshop, paying a lot of attention to his teacher’s mission and the problems of new picturesqueness. He repeatedly turned to the genre of self -portrait, which allowed to calmly and deeply solve the tasks. Falk created a serious, internally concentrated, thoughtful image of a philosopher artist. In it, he developed his method of multi -layer painting – translucent colorful layers, the rhythmic organization of the texture and expressiveness of the color scheme – allowing to penetrate the essence of the inner world.
