In the 1910s, the main qualities and features of the art of Petrov-Vodkin were formed. Composition „Thirsty a warrior “is one of the last frank appeals of the master to a brightly designated symbolic allegorical and mythological source. The work is distinguished by the bright decorativeness of a picturesque solution based on the principle of tricaria created by the artist, and a kind „The frozen “plastic of the figures of the warrior leaning over the spring and scattering frightened nymphs or swimsuits. The figurative world of the picture, which is inflated on allegories, gives unlimited freedom of imagination and involves a variety of options for interpretation of the plot.
