Popova is one of the first masters who followed Malevich along the path of geometric disappointment. She managed to develop her own type of picture, called "Picturesque architectonics". Works with this name in the work of Popova for 1916–1918 about forty. In them, the artist raises the question of the ratio of painting and architecture at the beginning of the 20th century. Popova is one of those who sought to implement architectural categories in picturesque experiments. We are talking about creating an architectonics image in painting. In the painting of Popova, the relationship of the parts of a whole occurs, representing the ideal semblance of an architectural structure, filled with energy – intermittent and impulsive.
